The delegates were asked to answer the question, "What is your freshest wound from US militarism?"

Just today this is the most recent reminder of larger wounds that knicked my ears:

Airforce Thunderbirds in town today
booming through Honolulu blue skys
booming through conversations
on shifiting strategies for liberation
Fighter planes playing chase
Demonstrations of military might
At high speeds, spectators are in awe of how jets
Scratch by Lēʻahi . Then up pull up towards the Koʻolau mountains
ears fill
with piercing sound of occupation

Gigi, says, "What's happening? They are flying
too low right over my building. It's pissing me off."
We have lost our train of thought
Attempt to collect thoughts-scattered to wind by well oiled noise
We stop. Promise to talk later.

Moments later

Silence
At an instant,
Kukalahale rains comes pouring here
Papa and Wakea have spoken
