New Moon to Full Moon and back again

For Vanessa-sistah griot and storykeeper
who asked for hand written prayers and poems that will not let any of us fall
given on this day of Unity World Day of Prayer

I New Moon
On the new moon
When the dark night hides clarity
And the cosmos begs for patience
Help me trust everything
Can be made anew
Help me embrace,
Again and again- that not all can be uttered or known
Until its ripe time
Inside me
Inside of us

II Full Moon
On the full moon
When the orb lingers in the dawn
And faces the rays of the sun
help me recognize my butterfly beloveds
on the path so that we know we that we the many are one

Allow me to sit still in the temple of my heart,
Help me uncover
The tucked away bit of ecstatic love stored
in cool dark places for temporary safe keeping

Make me a strong vessel so I no longer keep love hoarded and private
So I may dedicate myself to love in these hard, joyful years ahead
So I may incubate and chanel the nascent fullness-wide love
the promises of open blossoming love

III Back Again
Until then- help me at every dusk-
embrace every tender moment…
Remind me to celebrate that once necessary, still quiet
which held our mutual revelation
Remind me of
mutual tears which waters generations past and future
Remind me of
earth shattering laughter
that tears shame to shreds

Help me honor mutual evolution which is always there-
and is made visible at any moment it needs to be felt and
lived fully out loud
