I'm back!
I've returned to blogging after a year hiatus. The last thing I posted was a prayer for my 34th birthday which was about a year and half ago and wow, did the prayer work!
Here are a few of the 2005/2006 highlights:
* Having the opportunity to experience swimming with dolphins with the Joyful Heart Foundation
* Co-producing Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monolouges with a dynamic Pinay cast of women from 22 to 77 in Waipahu and in Honolulu for V-Day 2006
* Sharing reflections of the above experience at places like the National Filipino American Historical Society Conference and first ever Nakkem-Ilocano langugage and culture conference
* Connecting with amazing women like Leny Strobel and Staci Haine
* Furthering my personal growth and development at amazing places like Harbin Hotsprings (smile) and PSI seminar's capstone course, Principia
* Going to Disneyworld with my family, of all places!
* Doing the start-up work for my new consulting business, Grace Intelligence
* And most of all, making the choice to live a lifestyle that supports me to be everything I want most to be: a fun nanay, loving partner, successful social change entrepreneur, artist/writer/somatic healer, and a babaylan living life joyfully!
It has been one amazing ride. And everyday, since I've made the choice to work out of my home, taking on only projects that allow me to use my optimal creativity in the service of positive social change, I have really been humbled by how the universe has really challenged me to take on this level of responsibility and come from a place of gratitude. I am so grateful for the invisible support and ancestors that are out there. As wells as initially percieved negative experiences that have become powerful teaching moments and markers to heed hard lessons.
I feel like I need to put out BIG, BIG shout outs to Cristina Valenzuela, Darlene Rodrigues, Kat Hurtubise, and Ming Leung who have supported me through some big highs and lows these last few weeks as I re-birth myself and learn how to take myself on as an emerging consultant.
Also, a big mahalo to a new connection, Kawika Mahelona from Oiwi Ocean Gear, who bought my beloved Kialoa hybrid paddle that I used to cross the Molokai channel for a second time. I needed to create some cash flow and was sad to see the paddle go, but I learned from the powerful encounter that mana (life force) is exchanged and shared when we fully align with our visions and trust the Creator or a higher power of our own understanding.
As we move into the full moon, tommorrow and into Hina Matsuri (Girl's Day), here's to honoring the power of listening to our inner voice and coming into our own. So it shall be...
